Zahid Hamidi: Race not a factor in crime crackdown

Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

ALOR SETAR: The Ops Cantas Khas mounted by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) since two weeks ago is not targeting any particular race but is a serious effort of hunting down criminals to curb crime, says Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He said the claim that PDRM was targeting a certain race was baseless as out of the 4,626 people arrested in the operation so far, 2,581 were Malays, 715 Chinese and 1,146, Indians.
