Ismail hands over IGP baton to Khalid


KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Ismail Omar on Thursday handed over the nation's top police job to his deputy Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.

The passing of the baton ceremony for the new Inspector-General of Police took place at the Police Training Centre (PULAPOL).

In his speech, Ismail, who goes on mandatory retirement, said he was confident that Khalid would lead the police force in an honourable way.

"I wish him all the best and he is the best man for the job," he said.

At the same ceremony, Khalid handed over the Deputy IGP post to Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Zinin.
