GEORGE TOWN: Many doctors and general practitioners (GPs) are prescribing “branded” medicine which can cost up to 90% more than generic ones that are just as effective.
Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) School of Pharmaceutical Sciences adjunct Prof Dr Jayabalan Thambyappa said doctors tended to persuade their patients to buy these branded medicine.
