PENANG: When it comes to shopping for decorations and prayer paraphernalia for the Chinese New Year, some Penangites insist on buying from their regular shops regardless of where they live. 

Air stewardess Shirley Ong, 36, who now resides in Singapore with her husband Nicholas Wi, 40, said she made it a point to visit the Kedai Gaharu Choon Ban Heong in Magazine Road here during her pre-Chinese New Year visit to Penang.
