A TOTAL of RM1.05mil in fines have been collected from 63 employers of illegal foreign workers since the enforcement of the amended Immigration Act on Aug 1, 2002.
“If the employer hired more than five illegal foreigners at the same time, he can be jailed between six months and five years and given six strokes of the cane,” Home Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Radzi Sheikh Ahmad told Teresa Kok (DAP – Seputeh).
