LENGGONG: A female elephant wandered near a village for three days foraging for food, all the while suffering great pain from gunshot wounds on her head.
The elephant finally succumbed to her maggot-infested wounds at noon yesterday, despite desperate attempts by Perak Wildlife and National Parks Department officers to save her.
