KUALA LUMPUR: Plantation workers' salaries should be revised by just 2.8% or no more than two-thirds of the increase in the Consumer Price Index, the Malaysian Agricultural Producers Association (Mapa) said.

Its president, Datuk Dr Mohd Noor Ismail, said the National Union of Plantation Workers' proposals for a 15% revision on rates of pay was excessive.

“The union should realise that salary revisions should be based on the accepted and established formula,” he said at Mapa's 38th annual general meeting here on Tuesday. – Bernama
