Pahang royalty heads state honours list
KUANTAN: A member of the Pahang royal family leads the state honours list in conjunction with Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah's 73rd birthday yesterday.
Heading the list of 966 state award recipients was Tengku Besar Pahang Tengku Kamil Ismail Tengku Idris Shah, who was conferred the Sri Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (SSAP) award, which carries the title Datuk Seri.
The investiture ceremony will be held at Istana Abu Bakar in Pekan today.
Transport Minister Datuk Chan Kong Choy, who is MCA deputy president, and National Unity and Community Development Minister Datuk Dr Siti Zaharah Sulaiman were among eight others who will receive the SSAP award.

The rest were Armed Forces chief Jen Tan Sri Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin, Royal Malaysian Navy chief Laksamana Datuk Mohd Anwar Mohd Nor, Royal Malaysian Air Force chief Jen Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad, SP Setia Berhad CEO Datuk Liew Kee Sin, Tradium Corporation Sdn Bhd chairman Akbar Khan Mohamed Khan and Kimzen Capital Services Sdn Bhd chairman Koh Kim Teck.
Tengku Sri Bendahara Raja Tengku Mustaffa Kamel Sultan Mahmud was among 16 others who were awarded the Sri Indera Mahkota Pahang (SIMP) award, which carries the title Datuk.
Other recipients were Sultan Ahmad Shah’s younger brother Lt-Kol Tengku Datuk Kamarulzaman Sultan Abu Bakar, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob’s wife Datin Seri Junaini Kassim, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, Chief of Justice Tan Sri Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh Abdul Halim’s wife Puan Sri Mazni Mohamed Noor and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Senator Datuk Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
Others included Auditor-General Datuk Dr Hadenan Abdul Jalil, Anti-Corruption Agency director-general Datuk Zulkifli Mat Noor, army chief Datuk Pahlawan Mohd Azumi Mohamed, deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Omar and army field commander Lt-Jen Datuk Abdul Aziz Zainal.
Also in the list were Tenaga Nasional Bhd chairman Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin, Affin Bank Bhd director Datuk Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman, Dewan Negara Senator Datuk Lim Sing @ Lam Kam Sang, Malaysian permanent representative to the United Nations Datuk Rastam Mohd Isa and TAHB Auto Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Syed Azman Syed Ibrahim.
Sixteen people were conferred with the Darjah Sultan Ahmad Shah (DSAP) award, which carries the title Datuk.
They were Deputy Defence Minister Datuk Mohd Shafie Afdal, Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Dr Ng Yen Yen, Appeals Court Judge Datuk Augustine Paul, state mufti Datuk Sulaiman Ahmad, Defence Ministry secretary-general Datuk Subhan Jasmon, Prison director-general Datuk Mustafa Osman, Home Ministry deputy secretary-general of management Datuk Mohamad Md Yasin and Royal Malaysian Air Force deputy chief Lt-Jen Datuk Nik Ismail Nik Mohamed.

Others included State Police chief Datuk Mat Drus Sudin, Bukit Aman contingent police headquarters deputy director of management Datuk Talib Jamal, Bukit Aman contingent police headquarters logistic director Datuk Zainal Mohd Tahir, cardiologist Datuk Dr Richard Ng Ang Lee and KAF Discounts Bhd managing director and chairman Datuk Khatijah Ahmad.
Commerce International Merchant Bankers executive Mohamed Nazir Tun Abdul Razak, Telekom (M) Bhd chief executive Datuk Md Khir Abdul Rahman and UEM Group CEO Abdul Wahid Omar also received the DSAP award.
A total of 77 people were awarded with Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP), which also carries the title Datuk.
Among them were state Education director A. Rahim Noh, Negri Sembilan deputy police chief SAC Abdul Rahim Hanafi, Risda deputy director-general Abdul Rahman Ali and KLIA Sepang Berhad senior general manager Abdul Hamid Mohd Ali.
Others who received the DIMP award were singer Aisah Mohd Shariff, also known as Yusni Hamid, TV3 CEO Datuk Farid Redzuan, Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital obstetrician and gynaecologist consultant Dr Ghazali Ismail, National Heart Foundation director Dr Khoo Kah Lin, State SEDC chief executive Lias Mohd Noor and Pahang Foundation general manager Saariah Saad.
State Water Supply director Ismail Mat Noor, Judicial Commissioner Mohamed Apandi Ali, Sessions Court Senior Judge Mohamad K. Abdul Rahman and the Prime Minister's senior private secretary Mohd Shafiq Abdullah also received the DIMP award.
There were seven people who received the Setia Ahmad Shah (SAP), 33 who were conferred with the Setia Mahkota Pahang (SMP) and 36 who were given the Ahli Ahmad Shah Pahang (AAP).
A total of 163 were conferred the Ahli Mahkota Pahang (AMP), 113 received the Pingat Khidmat Cemerlang (PKC), 119 were given the Pingat Kelakuan Terpuji (PKT) and 377 were conferred the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK).
