PETALING JAYA: An apartment worth almost RM100,000 is just one of the prizes awaiting runners taking part in the PJ Half Marathon on Sept 21.

The three-room apartment in Sri Kembangan, one of the prizes for the special draw, is sponsored by LBS Bina Group Berhad.

The company’s senior marketing manager Christina Kaw Li Ching said they were proud to be associated with the run.

“PJ Half Marathon is a good endeavour by The Star and MPPJ to promote sports-related activities in the community and we will continue to support such worthy events,” she said.

Motorola Malaysia Sdn Bhd is another corporate citizen, who has again come forward to support the PJ Half Marathon.

The company came in with RM20, 000 and five of their latest cellular telephones.

Its human resource manager Latifah Daud said: “We first came in last year and we decided to do it again this year because the company feels it's important to promote fitness and health.

Motorola is also sending its staff to participate in the event.

“We are expecting about 200 staff to take part in the run,” Latifah said.

Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a traditional sponsor of PJ Half Marathon, stepped in with an RM20,000 contribution.

“We are happy to be part of this event once again,” said its senior public affairs executive Sherifah Hanom Syed Hussein.

“It’s a chance to get together and enjoy ourselves as the PJ Half Marathon is not just a sporting event but a gathering of friends and colleagues.”

Sports Toto will also be sending a team for the run.

Participants can also look forward to having 100 Plus isotonic drinks.

F&N regional special event and sponsorship manager Muhammad Fauzi Ahmad presented RM20,000 in cash and kind to MPPJ president Datuk Abdul Karim Munisar recently in support of the run.

Meanwhile, tune in to 988 and Red 104.9 for updates on the PJ Half Marathon, as the radio stations will be promoting the event on air.

Radio Rediffusion head of advertising and promotions Yap Lai Peng said the company enjoyed working on interesting projects.

“We like doing different things with different people and this run is just one of them,” she said.
