KUALA LUMPUR: Two men were shot when they attempted to ram their car into a policeman on a motorcycle who had earlier tried to stop them during an anti-narcotics operation at Jalan Loke Yew here.

The men, who suffered gun shot wounds on their arms, were sent to the KL Hospital. They were reported to be in stable condition.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Hadi Ho Abdullah said the incident occurred when two policemen on separate motorcycles tried to stop a car at about 7.15pm yesterday.

But the two men sped off and the policemen gave chase.

One of the constables tried to stop the car but was almost knocked down.

“The car was about to hit him, so he fired two shots at the car, injuring the driver and his passenger,'' said ACP Hadi.

The duo, aged 28 and 41, were detained to help in their investigations.
