PETALING JAYA: The Government is still studying the proposal to form a Media Council and will only establish it with the agreement of journalists.
Deputy Information Minister Datuk Zainuddin Maidin said yesterday it was never the Government’s intention to force upon journalists the council's formation lest it be seen as stifling press freedom.
