KUCHING: Sarawak will tighten laws to make husbands in broken native customary marriages pay for the maintenance of their wife and children who are minors through the proposed Native Customary Marriages (Maintenance) Bill.
Under the bill, which would be tabled at the State Assembly next week, a first-class magistrate would be empowered to make an order regarding the maintenance payment.
