Besides an internal police probe, the officers responsible for making Zamani sing while in handcuffs will also face legal action by the singer’s management. “We have spoken to a lawyer to discuss our next course of action. As a manager and friend who’s known (Zamani) since the early 1990s, I regret that he was shamed like that,” said Johan Aziz, the Slam vocalist’s manager. Zamani, or his real name Zamani Ibrahim, 43, was arrested on Wednesday morning for alleged drug abuse at his house in Taman Keramat, Ampang. A video recording of him performing one of his hit songs while in handcuffs has been widely circulated on social media.

The victim reportedly managed to run out of the house and shout for help as the suspect was taking off his pants. A neighbour then succeeded in detaining the man and handed him over to the police.
