TAYLOR’S COLLEGE LAUNCHES ACCA TITAN ACCOUNTING SCHOLARSHIP

In January, Taylor’s College sponsored a three-day accounting workshop for 375 SPM students from 11 boarding schools in Malaysia.

AS Malaysia continues to work towards its transformation into a developed nation, the need for skilled accountants remains a critical component.

However, with only 38,704 registered accountants in Malaysia as of January 2023(1), the country has fallen short of the target of having 60,000 accountants by 2020(2).

To support Malaysia’s efforts in producing highly skilled accountants, Taylor’s College is offering exclusive scholarship through the ACCA Titans Package for students interested in pursuing their studies in accounting.

Taylor’s College School of Professional Studies head Jason Lo emphasises the crucial role of producing highly skilled accountants who can actively contribute to the nation’s economic growth.

“The exclusive scholarship programme aims to provide deserving students with the essential financial assistance needed to pursue their studies in accounting.

“By equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the industry, we can empower and enable the next generation of leaders in accounting to drive our nation’s economic progress forward.”

The ACCA Titans Package is available to students who wish to enrol in ACCA or ACCA Foundation in Accounting (ACCA FIA) at Taylor’s College and comes in two categories:

> The Taylor’s Young Accountant Scholarship, offering students 100% tuition fee waiver for the ACCA FIA programme with complimentary book resources, and upskill course and ACCA FIA external exam fee.

> The Excellence Award package which offers students up to 35% tuition fee waiver for ACCA and ACCA FIA programmes with complimentary book resources and upskill course.

Interested applicants can use their forecast or actual results to apply for the exclusive scholarships. Other terms and conditions apply.

“At Taylor’s College, we believe that producing highly skilled accountants is key to the country’s economic success,” says Lo.

“Drawing upon the strength of our Taylor’sphere community – from experienced accountants with decades of industry experience to our robust industry partners – we are committed to not only provide aspiring accountants with the necessary knowledge and skills, but also foster a supportive environment that prepares them to become productive members of the global community,”

With a strong focus on academic excellence, industry relevance, and student empowerment, the college is committed to produce highly skilled professionals who can make meaningful contributions to the nation’s development.

In January, Taylor’s College sponsored an RM80,000 accounting workshop Bengkel Kecemerlangan Prinsip Perakaunan for 375 students from 11 boarding schools in Malaysia.

The three-day workshop, organised by the Education Ministry’s Principles of Accounting Panel of Fully Residential School Management Division and supported by the Malaysia Institution of Accountants (MIA), provided hands-on training for students to master the subject at SPM level and build a solid foundation for success in accounting and finance.

Additionally, the college provided accounting kits to 84 students from Putrajaya, containing essential items such as an accounting calculator, a bag, and stationery, to help them excel in their studies.
