These achievements follow after 29 of Yayasan Peneraju’s Professional Accounting students secured first place in the world with the Certified Accounting Technician/Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (CAT/ACCA) World Prize Winner award recently.
The foundation celebrated its 19 scholars who completed the CFA and FRM in 2019, at a certificate presentation ceremony,
It was held in conjunction with Peneraju Professional Finance, Banking & Investment (FBI) summit, and officiated by Securities Commission Malaysia deputy chief executive Datuk Zainal Izlan Zainal Abidin,.The globally recognised CFA and FRM have been identified as among the most in demand professions, notably in the financial services and investment sectors which are among the fastest growing industries.
Yayasan Peneraju acting chief executive officer Mohd Ariff Ithnin said this year the foundation aims to produce 100 CFAs and 100 FRMs respectively.
“This is to bridge the gap in the number of these professions in Malaysia, which are critically needed for the country to be at par with developed nations.
“To date, Yayasan Peneraju has enrolled close to 400 aspiring charterholders,” he said.
Malaysia currently has 869 registered CFA charter holders and 170 certified FRM. The corresponding figures for Singapore are 4,000 and 850 respectively.
The number of bumiputra participation is relatively small, he said, with 115 CFA and 15 FRM respectively. The concurrent objective is also to take a look at how Yayasan Peneraju can contribute towards the rolling out of professionals who are ready to embrace the IR4.0, he added.
The Peneraju Profesional FBI Summit 2019 was organised by Yayasan Peneraju in collaboration with Efficient Frontier Consulting Sdn Bhd, with 230 attendees consisting of Yayasan Peneraju’s CFA
and FRM scholars, mentors and potential candidates from various institutions.
