Students from Unitar International University carried out a community project near Taman Negara.

THE Faculty of Education and Humanities from Unitar International University organised an educational and community programme known as “Helping Lives Bloom” for the indigenous communities in Kampung Dedari near Taman Negara, Pahang.

A total of 40 participants who were involved, assisted the Orang Asli community to fund activities for their community development. These included motivational as well as non-formal education programmes.

“We hope our students use this event as a stepping-stone to have a sense of responsibility to the nation.

“They gained useful experiences by staying with the Orang Asli as well as learning the importance of teamwork in overcoming obstacles and completing tasks,” said Unitar International University programme director Pritha Arjunan.

Donations in the form of books, clothes and food were also presented to the community.

“This is indeed an experience the students will cherish for a long time,” said Pritha.

She also thanked Al Mahdi from the same faculty for his initiative in collaborating with her in support of the programme.
