Alias retires from ministry

EDUCATION Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Alias Ahmad punching out on the last day.

He has served in the civil service for 34 years. His mandatory retirement was on May 22.

It was reported that Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa said Alias took over from his predecessor Tan Sri Dr Madinah Mohamad in September 2016.

Prior to the appointment, Alias was National Security Council secretary in the Prime Minister’s Department. — Bernama
