A NATIONWIDE pickleball series concluded in Selangor with a RM175,000 prize pool attracting over 1,500 participants from across Malaysia.
The Toyota Malaysia Pickle Tour 2026, which was held in Sarawak, Sabah, Johor, Penang and Selangor, was a wide- reaching pickleball event for Malaysians of different ages and experience levels.
Beginning in Kuching before moving to Kota Kinabalu, Johor Baru and George Town, the tour concluded in Subang Jaya with its final weekend of competition and community activities.
The event, organised by UMW Toyota Motor with the support of Youth and Sports Ministry, drew 637 adult and 289 junior competitors.
The junior categories were open to players as young as seven, while adult players included those over 50.
Apart from that, 177 participants joined the coaching clinics.
A defining feature of the competition was its “Solo Entry. Team Glory” format for adult participants, who registered individually before being brought together into teams.
Winners were recognised during each leg of the competition.
“In just its second year, the Toyota Malaysia Pickle Tour has grown into a much bigger community platform, and that growth has come from the people who continue to show up, play and make the tour their own,” said UMW Toyota Motor president Datuk Ravindran K.
“We are grateful to the players, families and pickleball communities who have supported us from one stop to the next.
“This year, the tour reached communities across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak, making it one of the country’s most extensive pickleball tours by geographical reach.
“For us, that is ‘Mobility for All’ in action, creating more opportunities for people to move, connect and enjoy the sport together,” he said.
