FIFTEEN young leaders have been identified to form the first leadership team of Kelab Belia Legend, a platform aimed at encouraging young people to play an active role in community development.
Legend Sports Ventures (LSV) founder Presant Sathasivam said they were selected from among 30 participants in a youth leadership programme held in Pasir Gudang, Johor Baru.
“Through Kelab Belia Legend, we hope to provide a platform for young people to take on greater responsibilities and eventually lead their own initiatives.
“We want them to move beyond being participants in youth programmes and become leaders who can organise activities and contribute to their communities,” he said.
Presant said the club would be supported by LSV, a registered social enterprise that uses sports as a platform for youth development and community engagement.
“The club is still in the midst of being established. Its formal committee structure and appointment of office bearers are still being finalised,” he said.
The idea to establish the club came after the successful completion of Project FU-GeN 2026 held at Tanjung Puteri Golf Resort in Pasir Gudang.
The programme was organised by LSV in collaboration with the All-Party Parliamentary Group Malaysia on Sustainable Development Goals (APPGM-SDG).
“Participants took part in various activities, including leadership and team-building sessions, tree planting and discussions on United Nation’s sustainable development goals.
“They were aimed at encouraging young people to interact, understand one another and work together,” he said.
Johor National Unity and Integration Department director Nurul Akmalina Shamsuddin also conducted a session on unity and cultural understanding during the programme launched by Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Abdul Karim.
