For a group of St Anthony’s School old boys in their 70s, a day out in Teluk Intan, Perak, was a celebration of long-time rapport.
The 63 Anthonians from the Class of ’73 revelled in a day of laughter, food and entertainment as they reminisced about their friendship from primary to secondary school.
The reunion, taglined “Once Classmates, Always Friends”, started out with breakfast, then proceeded onto a memorable cruise along Sungai Perak.
The atmosphere was lively, with plenty of singing and photo snaps to capture the special occasion.
Adding glamour to activities on shore was a Lamborghini display, where the attendees had the opportunity to take photographs with and test-drive the sports car.
The appearance of an orange Lamborghini created quite a stir in sleepy Teluk Intan.
The attendees were also garlanded to symbolise the camaraderie that has existed for over five decades.
The evening programme include a warm welcome by a lion dance troupe from SJK (C) San Min, adding colour and excitement to the Anthonians’ 10-course dinner.
The evening included a series of lucky draws and prizes such as a cruise for two to Phuket in Thailand, and three airline tickets for travel to Japan, Taiwan and Vietnam.
There were also raffle prizes that included a RM500 cash prize.
Dubbed the “70-Year-Old Reunion”, the event was a tribute to friendships that have survived the test of time.
