ADDITIONAL parking capacities at three major public hospitals in Perak are in the pipeline.
Perak Health director Dr Feisul Idzwan Mustapha said the state Health Department had signed a memorandum with a private company to build more parking facilities at Ipoh’s Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital, Taiping Hospital and Seri Manjung Hospital.
“With these hospitals being located in the city centre, there are challenges with limited space.
“We are working to build multilevel parking facilities.
“These parking facilities are expected to be operational in 2027,” he said in a press conference after opening the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) Convention and Scientific Congress in Ipoh, Perak.
He said the department was focused on improving facilities at existing hospitals to improve services to the public.
“A lot of facilities in the state require upgrading, and this would be under the 13th Malaysia Plan,” he said.
“We have the action plan and blueprint, but the implementation depends on the financial capability of the government and human resources.”
Over 300 people, including doctors and medical specialists attended the event organised by the MMA Perak branch.
MMA president Datuk Dr R. Thirunavukarasu and MMA Perak chairman Dr G. Monesh Pillai were also present.
