MCA leaders and guests were taken on a journey of the party’s rich history, through a musical performance titled “Legacy: Passing on the Flame, Voices Across the Land” at Dewan San Choon in Wisma MCA, Kuala Lumpur.

The fundraising dinner performance told the story of MCA’s founding, how it has fought for the welfare of the Malaysian Chinese community and significant milestones it achieved throughout its 77-year history.

The event, organised by the Terengganu MCA state liaison committee, was headed by state chief Datuk Dr Monna Ong.

It was an extension of the “Legacy” musical staged in Terengganu in 2024, which received strong support.

Among those present at the Kuala Lumpur dinner were MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, deputy president Datuk Mah Hang Soon, secretary-general Datuk Chong Sin Woon, party veteran and former transport minister Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy and committee deputy chairman Datuk Soh Kok Hiang.

Ong took to the stage to sing two songs, including Sheila Majid’s Legenda, in tribute to past and current party presidents as well as its members.

The event ended on a high note as leaders were invited on stage to sing a few songs, including an inspiring Hokkien song Ai Pia Cia Eh I-Ya which is about how victory demanded struggle.

Being a popular song among MCA members, it also captured the concert’s essence – strong party comradeship and fighting spirit.

The evening celebrated not only MCA’s long journey, but also the perseverance that has carried the party through the years.

The event raised RM100,000.
