THE Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) multi-purpose sports complex in Puchong is slated to be the sepak takraw venue for the Malaysia Games (Sukma) 2026.
Mayor Datuk Amirul Azizan Abd Rahim said the RM22.2mil facility, named Arena MBSJ Puchong, also strengthened access to sports and recreational facilities for Puchong residents.
“Besides sports and recreation, the complex also supports the organisation of community programmes,” he said at the launch of the facility located on a 1.67ha land along Jalan Persiaran Indera in Pusat Bandar Puchong.
The mayor revealed that there would be a another phase for the complex, which involved a swimming pool.
“Works are expected to start next year.
“The swimming pool will be located adjacent to the sports complex.
“We need to conduct soil investigation before commencing construction.”
Also present were Selangor investment, trade and mobility committee chairman Ng Sze Han, then Selangor Deputy Secretary (management) Datuk Mohd Yazid Sairi, Sri Serdang assemblyman Abbas Salimi Che Adzmi @ Azmi, Selangor Sports Council executive director Mohamad Nizam Marjugi, Selangor Sepak Takraw president Datuk Zafry Sulaiman and Subang Jaya deputy mayor Mohd Zulkurnain Che Ali.
Various facilities are available in the complex, including a multi-purpose court, jogging track, playground, lounge rooms and more.
The public can make reservations after Sukma, which is scheduled from Aug 15 to 24.
Effective Aug 3, Amirul Azizan will take over Mohd Yazid’s post while the latter has been appointed Petaling Jaya mayor.
