PROTECTIVE netting on a rock slope along Jalan Bukit Permai in Taman Bukit Permai, Selangor, will be replaced after it was damaged in a rockfall incident on Tuesday (July 28).
The Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) said no injuries or property damage were reported.
In a statement, MPAJ said investigations found that the existing protective netting on the slope had been damaged, causing small boulders to break loose and fall.
"The rock debris has since been cleared to prevent obstruction and ensure the safety of road users," it said.
As a precaution against similar incidents, MPAJ said the torn protective netting would be replaced.
The council added that slope maintenance works, including the clearing of vegetation from the protective netting, were last carried out in March this year.
MPAJ said it remained committed to carrying out regular slope maintenance throughout its administrative area to reduce the risk of such incidents.
The public has been advised to exercise caution and avoid parking vehicles near the affected area.
