ABOUT 30 bus operators are expected to use a new transport hub located in a mall in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.
It is expected to serve about 3,000 passengers daily, with capacity to increase to 10,000.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh said the LaLaport Transportation Hub at Bukit Bintang City Centre provides express bus passengers with proper boarding and drop-off points.
She said based on Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s (DBKL) data, Kuala Lumpur recorded an average of 1.2 million vehicles entering the city daily, alongside 5.5 million journeys in and out of the capital.
"These figures show why urban mobility must remain a priority," she said when launching the hub on Thursday (July 16).

Licensed by the Land Public Transport Agency (Apad), the hub has been operating in phases since February.
It is located on Level LG1 of LaLaport BBCC’s East Atrium, and has 11 bus bays, an air-conditioned waiting lounge, ticketing counters, self-service machines and passenger information screens showing real-time bus schedules.
Its location next to the Hang Tuah interchange also allows passengers to connect to the LRT and Monorail networks through a sheltered pedestrian walkway.
The facility also provides shuttle van services to KL International Airport Terminals 1 and 2, demand-responsive transport (DRT) services, taxi and e-hailing pick-up and drop-off areas.
