A hotel and service apartment in Johor Baru is marking National Month with free Jalur Gemilang for guests and the public, and receptionists clad in traditional and ethnic outfits.
Shama Suasana Johor Baru hotel manager Syed Ali Syed Othman said, “This is our first initiative to keep the patriotic spirit alive while also showing our appreciation for the country.

“We hope this simple gesture will encourage Malaysians to fly the Jalur Gemilang to show their love and pride as citizens of this beautiful country.”
He said there had been an increase in demand for rooms during the National Month celebrations, especially during the long National Day weekend.
“We believe this initiative comes at the right time as many families with children from across the country will be visiting Johor Baru,” he said.
Syed Ali said the hotel and service apartment receptionists would also don traditional and ethnic outfits until Sept 16.
“This is also a way for us to show our visitors, especially those from other countries, the many rich cultures in Malaysia that make the country special.”
Shama Suasana Johor Baru has also launched a special lunch buffet in conjunction with the National Month celebrations.
“This includes local dishes such as soto ayam, asam pedas Johor and many other foods that popular in Malaysia,” Syed Ali added.
