Harvey Norman’s latest line of exclusive mattresses serve to showcase the Japanese-inspired philosophy of refined living and precision craftsmanship.
“Living a better quality of life starts with perfecting your sleep.
“This collection is designed for those who demand both performance and comfort,” said Harvey Norman Malaysia (HNM) chief operating officer Jonathan Toh.
Two of the collection’s key models are Grand Sirius and Natural Breeze.
With medium softness, Grand Sirius is 41cm thick, while Natural Breeze, which has a medium firmness, is 38cm thick.
At the unveiling of the collection at its flagship store in MidValley Megamall, Toh said the company had been collaborating with Serta-Japan since 2003.
For Harvey Norman Malaysia lead general manager Eddy Ng, who has close to 20 years of experience in bedding products, the complete technical specifications may be in the brochure but for those looking to invest in a good mattress, nothing beats personal experience.
“You cannot decide which mattress is suitable for you just by sitting on it (to test it).
“You have to lie down fully. Allow your entire body to settle. Spend at least 10 to 15 minutes. Don’t rush,” he said.
To understand how the exclusive collection could offer such a high degree of comfort, Ng said that within each mattress was a support core of individual high-carbon springs specifically placed to provide optimal spinal alignment and pressure relief.

“These springs are divided across 11 zones that offer varied firmness to accommodate the weight of different parts of the body, providing firmer support for heavier areas like the shoulders and buttocks,” he said.
Ultra-resilient support layers of plush cushioning, natural latex and foam further enhance the feeling of luxury.
Air channels along the sides of the mattress release built-up moisture and assist in ventilation; the use of cool-to-touch fabric that draws heat away from the skin also aids in creating fresher sleep temperatures.
Serta-Japan marketing general manager Soichi Koyama, who was also at the event, said the brand was used in five-star luxury hotels.
“We did a blind comfort test once and over 90% of the participants chose our mattresses as their preferred option,” he said.
To experience the collection, customers can visit Harvey Norman at its Mid Valley Megamall Kuala Lumpur Flagship Store, IPC Shopping Centre and 1 Utama shopping centre in Petaling Jaya, MidValley Southkey in Johor Baru, and Gurney Plaza Penang.
To enhance the shopping experience, the stores have an AI BedMatch Smart Assessment System to analyse body profiles and sleeping postures to recommend the most suitable mattress.
Guided by trained bedding specialists, customers will receive personalised advice tailored to their comfort needs.
Among the premium Japanese mattress range offers is up to 60 months of 0% interest flexible payment plans.
