HARVEY Norman has further cemented its presence in Johor with the launch of its fifth store in the state.
The outlet in Kulai also marks the brand’s 40th store in Malaysia.
Harvey Norman Singapore and Malaysia managing director Bernice Kwok said the latest milestone reflected the company’s commitment to expanding its reach in the rapidly developing state.
“We have three stores in Johor Baru and one in Batu Pahat, making this the fifth in the state.
“We are also looking into opening up more stores in Johor, especially as the state is growing and doing well.
“We are in talks for further expansion and have identified potential areas, but it is still in the early stages,” she told reporters when met during the launch of the store at IOI Mall Kulai.
Kwok said Kulai’s robust development made the district the perfect location for the international household retailer’s latest addition.
“The quick industrialisation of Kulai with the opening of data centres and high level of investment coming in makes the district an ideal location.
“There are also more and more people coming here to make Kulai their home in search of a better quality of life,” she said.
She added that the company remained committed to helping customers shop with confidence through various initiatives such as its No Frills Price Guarantee, flexible payment options and reliable after sales support.
“These values have been at the heart of Harvey Norman for decades, and they continue to guide everything we do.”
Harvey Norman Malaysia chief operating officer Jonathan Toh said among Harvey Norman’s strengths was its commitment to ensuring quality customer service, allowing customers to shop with peace of mind.
“Besides that, we are also committed to making sure they continue to enjoy a similarly pleasant experience even after they have shopped with us through all kinds of advantages, such as warranty extension and reliable after-sales support,” he said.
Harvey Norman Malaysia lead general manager Eddy Ng said apart from quality products and customer service, the company’s specialised training for its staff also set the brand apart.
“For instance, if a customer were to enter our store to look for a TV set, we would have employees specialised in electrical appliances to assist them.
“Similarly, if a customer were to visit the store for bedding, we will have those trained in that specific area to assist.
“This allows customers to have a better insight from us as they shop, making the experience even more pleasant,” he said.
In conjunction with the store’s grand opening sale until May 20, visitors will be treated to a wide array of deals and activities.
Present at the launch were Harvey Norman Malaysia Electrical Division general manager Ian Bushy Martin, Computers and Communications Division general manager Danny Lau, Furniture general manager Mark Mah and Small Appliances and Personal Care Division assistant general manager Yvonne Chin.
