FREE tuition classes will continue to be offered to underprivileged students in Putrajaya this year.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh said the Putrajaya Tuition Mission programme saw 161 students obtain excellent results in the 2025 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), a 23% increase from 2024.

“This year we aim to get 150 students from nine secondary schools in Putrajaya to join the programme.

“We have also appointed 20 experienced teachers who will prepare the teaching modules.

“A fair system is not one that treats everyone the same way, but one that ensures no one is left behind even though they started from behind.

“This is why we established this programme,” she said when launching the programme at Kompleks Perbadanan Putrajaya.

The programme, organised by Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) with the support of the Federal Territories Department (JWP), will offer 30 classes from May 5 until Oct 18, covering subjects such as Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics and History.

Classes will be held every Tuesday and Thursday at Kompleks Kejiranan Presint 16, Putrajaya.

The programme includes outdoor learning activities which will be conducted on the second Saturday of every month.

Also present were JWP director-general Datuk Muhammad Azmi Mohd Zain, PPj president Datuk Mohd Sakeri Abdul Kadir, Putrajaya Federal Territories Education Department director Nadimin Abdul Aziz and Putrajaya Federal Territories People’s Representative Council president Datuk Ahmad Faisal Abdul Karim.
