A JOINT contribution of RM1mil by Top Glove Corporation Bhd executive chairman Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai and STM Lottery Sdn Bhd is set to benefit the construction of a new administrative block for a school in Negri Sembilan.

Seremban MP and Transport Minister Anthony Loke witnessed the presentations of RM500,000 each to SMJK Chan Wa in Seremban.

The new four-storey block will house purpose-built art rooms, craft studios, computer labs, science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) learning facilities and a modern double-storey library to replace the school’s 60-year-old library.

The project will also enable the school to convert its current teachers’ offices into additional classrooms, allowing more students to be admitted annually.

“Educational causes are very close to my heart,” said Lim.

“Good quality education is one of the most important investments in life as it opens doors and shapes futures.

“I believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn in a well-equipped and supportive environment.

“I hope this contribution will help SMJK Chan Wa create better opportunities for students and nurture future generations who will contribute positively to society,” added Lim.

Sharing the same belief, Sports Toto Bhd chairman Datuk Seri Robin Tan said, “Contributions to education are investments in the future of our children and, by extension, the community and our country.

“I am proud and honoured to stand with Lim in championing the expansion of SMJK Chan Wa, ensuring equitable access to quality education in line with the growing student population in Seremban.”

Loke commended the donors for their generosity, adding that the contribution will have a lasting impact on students and families in Seremban.

“Their contributions will go a long way in strengthening the school’s facilities and expanding access to quality education.”

Meanwhile, SMJK Chan Wa school board chairman Datuk Oh Kok Khim said, “With improved facilities and expanded learning spaces, we can provide future generations with a stronger foundation and brighter future.”
