For the fifth consecutive year, Sunway University has emerged as Malaysia’s top university for graduate employability, according to the 2026 National Graduate Employability Index.
The index, released by Talentbank, serves as the nation’s employer-driven benchmark.
It evaluates higher education institutions based on comprehensive employer surveys regarding recruitment preferences, hiring volume and future hiring intentions.
The ranking follows the university’s latest recognition by AppliedHE as the No.1 private university in South-East Asia for the third year running.
The university has also achieved a significant milestone in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, climbing to the 301–350 band globally.
These accomplishments reaffirm Sunway University’s status as the top non-government-linked private university in Malaysia and the region, reflecting its strong research impact and global outlook.
Sunway University president and vice-chancellor Prof Sibrandes Poppema said, “Being recognised as Malaysia’s top university for graduate employability for the fifth consecutive year is a proud moment for the institution.
“As a mission-driven, fifth-generation university, we are committed to delivering industry-relevant education, nurturing future-ready talent and fostering meaningful partnerships that empower our graduates to thrive in a rapidly evolving global workforce.
“This achievement reflects the dedication of our students, faculty and partners in driving impact through knowledge and innovation.”
A key factor behind this accolade is the university’s Success X-Factor Coaching initiative.
This signature programme connects students with educators, industry professionals and senior leaders to provide valuable insights, real-world perspectives and mentorship.
This network is designed to empower students to navigate challenges and unlock their potential before they enter the professional world.
