Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) has channelled aid totalling RM6,000 to four orphanages during its breaking of fast event.

In a press statement, MPS said that among the recipients was Yayasan Islam Darul Ehsan (YIDE), a welfare agency under the Selangor Islamic Religious Council responsible for managing and safeguarding the welfare of orphans in the state.

MPS’ Ihya’ Ramadhan programme also involved welfare homes under YIDE’s supervision within the MPS administrative area, namely Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ehsan Ash-Shakur, Pengurusan Raudhatul Al Faeez, Persatuan Kebajikan Rumah Anak Yatim Damai Kuang and Pertubuhan Kebajikan dan Pendidikan Raudhatul Jannah.

About 28 orphans from Pengurusan Raudhatul Al Faeez were invited to the event.

They received a set of new clothes and duit raya worth RM100 each ahead of the Aidilfitri celebration.

There were 560 guests at the event held at Menara MPS lobby.

MPS said the programme was jointly organised with its collaboration partner Fraser and Neave as an annual initiative to reach out to orphans and zakat recipients during the month of Ramadan.
