MCA Media Nite 2026 drew hundreds of media professionals, celebrating the party’s ongoing engagement with the press.

MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said the strong attendance reflected the close relationship between the party and members of the media.

Authorities, he said, must not abuse their powers when dealing with the media and online content.

“In a democratic society, the media is the fourth estate.

“Media freedom and the people’s right to speak up are very important,” he said during the event on March 5 at Dewan San Choon, Wisma MCA in Kuala Lumpur.

Dr Wee also lauded the media fraternity for its continued support.

Additionally, he expressed confidence that journalists would continue to play their role in serving Malaysian society.
