Festival Ramadan Selangor (Festira) is back for its 12th year, utilising a new 300m-long covered promenade in Shah Alam for trade and activities.

Set to run until March 20, the festival series will be held in Kompleks PKNS Shah Alam, SACC Mall and Aneka Walk which connects the two, as well as Kompleks PKNS Bangi.

Organised by Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), Festira 2026 was launched at Aneka Walk by Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, who came up with the idea when he was an executive councillor, to promote local entrepreneurs.

This year’s event has attracted the participation of 950 traders selling a wide range of goods including the latest Aidilfitri fashion, festive biscuits and iftar meals.

Aneka Walk, part of the Shah Alam Sentral project, supported local entrepreneurs and small businesses by providing a platform for growth, said Shah Alam Sentral chief executive officer designate Datuk Mohd Najib Ibrahim.

He added that Festira+ at Aneka Walk featured a refreshed bazaar concept with sales and activities.

“It brings together retail booths and community activities reflecting Festira’s evolution from a seasonal sales festival to a more dynamic and high-impact experience.”

Amirudin said Festira was targeting 2.5mil visitors, and believed the Aneka Walk weekend markets and live performances would appeal to tourists.

Spiritual programmes, family activities, free distribution of bubur lambuk and events featuring local celebrities have been lined up in the itinerary.

The festival’s strategic partners include PKNS Super App, Selangor Zakat Board, Selangor Public Library Corporation and Bateriku.com.
