Students explore heritage during learning tour in Kuala Lumpur

NEARLY 200 students and teachers from 11 schools across Kedah, Perak, Penang and Johor gathered in Kuala Lumpur for Chinese Education Day Tour 2025.

Organised by LLG Cultural Development Centre in conjunction with Chinese Education Day, the two-day event aimed to promote guided learning beyond the classroom.

The programme prioritised interfaith understanding through a visit to Masjid Al-Sultan Abdullah at Merdeka 118.

Hidayah Centre Foundation (HCF) outreach consultant Syafiq Apandi led a team of Mandarin-speaking Muslim volunteers to guide the participants.

For many of the participants, its was their first visit to a mosque.

They also visited key heritage sites to deepen their understanding of local history.

These included Lim Lian Geok Memorial, KLSCAH History Corridor, Tan Kah Kee Memorial, Chan She Shu Yuen Clan Ancestral Hall, Sin Sze Si Ya Temple andthe Petaling Street community area.

The organisers noted that the programme aimed to enrich out-of-classroom learning while fostering empathy and unity in a multicultural society.

The centre extended its appreciation to all parties involved and pledged to continue implementing community education programmes to strengthen civic values among the younger generation.
