ROAD safety in Kampung Seri Kembangan, Selangor, has improved following installation of two convex mirrors at blind junctions.
One mirror was installed along Jalan 14/3F in Taman Serdang Utama, while another was placed at a blind junction in Taman Bukit Serdang, Section 13.
Outgoing councillor Tey Boon Kiat (pic, below) said the installations were carried out after residents lodged complaints following several accidents at the locations.
“We want to prevent further accidents and ensure their safety,” he said, adding that each mirror cost about RM500.
Tey said other infrastructure works, including pipe replacement, milling and road resurfacing, were also carried out around Seri Kembangan at a cost of RM233,000.
“Works have been completed in Bukit Serdang Section 7, while road resurfacing works are ongoing in Taman Serdang Utama,” he said.
Ongoing works involve Jalan 14/2, Jalan 14/2A, Jalan 14/2B, Jalan 14/2C, Jalan 14/3A, Jalan 14/3B and Jalan 14/4.
Seri Kembangan assemblyman Wong Siew Ki, who was also present, reminded residents that they did not need to pay contractors for road patching or resurfacing works.
Wong said the reminder followed complaints from residents who claimed contractors had asked for money after completing road repairs, with amounts ranging from RM200 to RM400.
