Plan for S’gor civil servants to work from home

A PLAN to allow civil servants in Selangor to work from home (WFH) is expected to be finalised within three weeks.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the move was in response to the Federal Government’s call to cut back on fuel usage.

He stressed that the matter required a thorough assessment to ensure minimal impact on productivity.

“We are working on the plan, and if there is a need, I will inform the state government’s management.

"The implementation is aimed at reducing consumption of petrol and gas,” he said on Tuesday (March 31).

Amirudin said under the planned arrangement, workers would likely be scheduled to WFH on certain days.

He was speaking during a Wanita Berdaya Selangor’s (WBS) event at the Selangor State Secretariat Building in Shah Alam.

Also present was the state women's empowerment and welfare committee chairman, Anfaal Saari.

The event brought together 500 participants of various women's empowerment and leadership initiatives.

WBS also signed a memorandum of understanding with Taylor’s University to organise the IbuNiaga programme, aimed at helping women from the B40 group upskill and start a small business.
