Regular tree trimming important to prevent untoward incidents

The Landscape Department of Seremban City Council (MBS) is doing a commendable job to beautify the town and surrounding areas.

However, more can be done to make Seremban beautiful.

I suggest that the local council set up a tree trimming unit to monitor and cut branches that protrude over roads.

Not only is there risk of such branches breaking off and hitting cars or motorcyclists, they often obstruct road signboards.

There is also the danger from motorists swerving to avoid low-hanging branches.

These problems can be prevented if the branches are regularly trimmed.

Trees can be likened to human beings who require regular upkeep.

Take for example the row of huge trees opposite SMK King George V (KGV) in Jalan Zaaba.

If the crowns are properly trimmed, they act as canopies to provide beauty and shade.

Moreover, they will not collapse under the weight of excessive leaves during heavy rainfall.

I sincerely hope MBS’ Landscape Department will pay attention to this matter.
