A VIBRANT children’s Christmas party brought festive cheer to the Chapel of the Holy Infant Jesus in Kuala Selangor.
The gathering saw a large turnout of about 150 children and 350 adults, including local families and members of the migrant community.
Organised by the Senior Citizen Ministry Committee from the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes (OLL), Klang, the celebration commenced with a mass led by the children.
The event was made possible with the blessings of OLL parish priest Rev Father Gregory Chan, his assistant Rev Father Gnana Selvam Berintis (known as Father Selva) and Rev Father James Gabriel of the Church of St Paul the Hermit.
In a heartwarming homily, Father Selva invited the children to sit around him as he shared the story of the Frog and the Scorpion, drawing meaningful connections to biblical values such as trust, good intentions and choosing the right path in life.
Following the service, guests enjoyed lunch together, during which Father James arrived to spend time with his parishioners and offer prayers for the children and the organising team.
The afternoon continued with high energy as children participated in colouring contests, games and their own song and dance performances.
A major highlight was Bubbles the Clown, who kept the young audience entertained with magic tricks and interactive fun.
The joy continued as Father Selva distributed goodie bags and money packets to the children.
In a spirit of outreach, the committee also distributed bags of essential food items to needy and migrant families.
The day concluded with tea, savouries and cupcakes, leaving everyone with fond memories and a deep sense of Christmas cheer.
