Interior design firm updates spaces, contributes household goods
THE children at Rumah Hope in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, enjoyed an early Christmas gift in the form of refreshed decor and furnishings, thanks to an interior design firm.
Signature International Bhd revamped the home’s living and study spaces under its Signature Cares community programme.
The initiative forms part of Signature Group’s broader corporate social responsibility and environmental, social and governance commitments, reflecting its purpose of transforming spaces that elevate comfort, dignity and emotional well-being.
Signature contributed mattresses, bedding, towels, curtains, appliances and furniture for the benefit of the 50 children residing in the home that relies on public donations.
Signature group chief executive officer Lau Kock Sang said the improvements targeted both the bedrooms and shared spaces.
Signature also collaborated with Children’s Protection Society and Malaysian-based online parenting site “Makchic” to introduce storytelling, safety education, and emotional development activities, reinforcing the nurturing and supportive environments for children to thrive.
The handover event was attended by Signature brand ambassadors Amelia Henderson and Diana Danielle, who spent the afternoon bringing cheer to the children.
Lau said, “We chose Rumah Hope because of the extraordinary strength of its children and the unwavering dedication of its caregivers.
“This home has long been a sanctuary of safety, structure and love for children from challenging backgrounds.”
Rumah Hope was established by Good Hope Lutheran Church.
Lau said the company’s visits to the home found that while the rooms had been lovingly maintained, the 31-year-old facility was showing clear signs of wear.
This, he said, guided Signature in designing upgrades to bring the greatest long-term impact.
“We saw the opportunity to enhance these rooms in ways that bring greater comfort, privacy and ease into the children’s daily routines.
“Better rest, better organisation and a warmer environment directly support their confidence, well-being and aspirations,” he added.
Rumah Hope principal Edwin Roch said Signature’s contribution had made a tangible difference to the children’s comfort, safety and dignity, strengthening the home’s mission to nurture resilient young individuals.
