Nothing beats getting fresh air for a bit of respite from routine, especially if you live and work in the concrete jungle.
If you cannot make it your daily escape, try for occasional or weekly outings to parks or green spaces where you can feel the breeze on your face and shake off those workday stresses.
Sunlight is also essential in raising spirits.
You can bask in beneficial morning or late evening rays while doing some of the suggested exercise activities.

Think deep breaths of yoga or slow compound movements of tai chi in nearby parks or green patches at a playground, to focus on inner well-being.
To break a sweat, you can get jumping, walking or running, as well as partake in free Zumba or aerobics sessions, while some parks feature exercise equipment that can be utilised for strength movements or calisthenics.
Klang Valley has a plethora of spaces for green communion.
Right in the heart of the city is KLCC Park, with jogging trails winding around shady trees and the water-based playground a great option for a cooling break.
Nearby is Taman Tasik Titiwangsa, with upgraded facilities making the lakeside park an exciting weekend destination.
The park environs support jogging and leisurely walking as well as cycling (with bicycle rentals available) and inline skating, while the new skate park is a space for some shredding.
Those who love to be on the water can try kayaks or paddle boats, while its stadium facilities are good for sports like badminton, basketball, volleyball and tennis.
Another verdant space is Taman Botani Perdana, which dates back to Kuala Lumpur of yore as the Lake Gardens.
Right around the water is a track suitable for activities on foot or on wheels, while meandering up the slopes is a smaller trail for walking.
Venture further and you can enjoy the expansive green space that was opened in 1888 as Kuala Lumpur’s first public garden.
In the area is the orchid garden, bird park and butterfly sanctuary, while a stroll in the outer perimeter can take you alongside the National Planetarium and even downhill to the iconic Kuala Lumpur Railway Station.
There is no shortage of parks in the suburbs either.
Kepong, for instance, has Taman Tasik Metropolitan and the Forest Research Institute Malaysia, while Taman Tasik Permaisuri is an outdoor draw in Bandar Tun Razak.
In Selangor, Petaling Jaya’s green spaces include Taman Bandaran Kelana Jaya, Taman Jaya park and Bukit Gasing; while Subang Jaya has its Taman Subang Ria.

Shah Alam is resplendent for its lakeside parks and Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam, while Hulu Langat boasts forest trails and riverine spots.
Communal activities can also engender feel-food vibes.
Those into walking or running can try the parkrun held every Saturday in Putrajaya.
The free 5km event caters to everyone from casual exercisers to avid runners, while the lakeside route in Precinct 18 offers a serene ambience that can be a balm for the soul.
