SIX standees featuring “Bling Bling”, the Serdang Tourism campaign’s starfruit mascot, have been installed around Seri Kembangan in Selangor.

Seri Kembangan assemblyman Wong Siew Ki said the mascot reflected the area’s heritage as a former starfruit hub.

The locations of the standees are the Rainbow Bridge at Sungai Kuyoh, Bazar Rakyat Seri Kembangan, Olive Hill Business Park, Taman Bukit Serdang Section 5 futsal court and Taman Universiti basketball court.

Each standee also carries the message “Helo Subang Jaya”, in line with Subang Jaya City Council’s (MBSJ) tourism efforts.

“The standee highlights that visitors are in an attractive photo-taking spot,” said Wong, adding that the project, carried out with MBSJ, cost a total of RM47,200.

Wong previously said the campaign, launched earlier this year to coincide with Visit Selangor Year 2025 and Visit Malaysia 2026, aimed to showcase the area’s heritage, which included Seri Kembangan, Seri Serdang and Balakong.

Also present at the launch were MBSJ councillors Suzanah Hanim Wong and Tey Boon Kiat, and Kampung Baru Seri Kembangan village chief Eric Hong.
