SHOPPERS looking for home furnishings can get up to 78% off and a chance to win gold bars at a mall in Kuala Lumpur.

Until Nov 26, Harvey Norman’s flagship store at Mid Valley Megamall has promotions in conjunction with its first anniversary celebration.

Offers include discounts and a chance to win RM20,000 worth of gold bars.

By spending RM300, customers stand a chance to win prizes worth over RM18,000, including a Hisense four-door inverter fridge; a Grand Hyatt two-day, one-night stay with breakfast, Samsung smartphone and Nespresso coffee machine.

Harvey Norman Malaysia chief operating officer Jonathan Toh said the flagship store was designed for customers to better understand the products in their buying journey.

“The store offers a shopping experience that is seamless and personalised.

“We have the widest range of products and we are an international brand with more than 300 stores worldwide.

Toh said there were about 50 sales specialists and staff at the Mid Valley flagship store, all of whom were trained to share their product knowledge with customers.

He said the sales specialists could advise customers on built-in kitchen appliances, while the cooking specialists could recommend options based on each customer’s cooking style.

He said the Next-Gen AI (artificial intelligence) experts could provide advice on laptops suited to customers’ lifestyles.

Toh said although online shopping was popular, many customers still preferred to view products in person, which gave physical stores like Harvey Norman’s flagship store a strong advantage.

“People don’t usually buy a fridge online, because they want to see and feel the product, and ask the salesperson questions.

“The same goes for products such as mattresses and electronic items like laptops.”

He added that the flagship store was a vibrant hub where technology, innovation and lifestyle came together.

“We feature world-class built-in kitchen appliances and smart living solutions such as robotic vacuums, AI laptops for productivity and creativity, well-designed furniture and an extensive range of mattresses featuring BedMatch technology.”

Among the store highlights is Teka’s state-of-the-art built-in Maestro pizza oven and induction hob.

Shoppers can also enjoy deals on kitchen appliance brands such as Teka, Bosch, Elba, Electrolux, Fotile and Smeg, with packages that include hoods, hobs and oven add-ons starting from just RM2,885.

Customers are also invited to experience the store’s latest product – the La-Z-Boy Recliner Collection, designed to provide ultimate relaxation.
