THE Caring Home Association (CHA) brought together a total of 147 single mothers and the underprivileged in Semenyih, Selangor, to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The association had booked 15 tables at a local restaurant where everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner in the spirit of community.

CHA chairman Wendy Yap, treasurer Erica Lee and secretary Teo Sock Kian were present.

“For 26 years we hosted Mid-Autumn Festival dinners for single parents and the elderly.

“Our purpose is simple but heartfelt – to let those without a father, husband or children by their side, to still feel the warmth of family and the joy of reunion,” said Yap.

Also present were Balakong assemblyman Ong Chun Wei, former Selangor executive councillor Hee Loy Sian along with local community and church leaders.

The evening included a lion dance, after which CHA distributed basic groceries and mooncakes.
