KUALA LUMPUR: As more Malaysians build substantial wealth through businesses, property and investments, priorities are evolving beyond wealth creation alone. Increasingly, high net worth (HNW) individuals are focused on preserving what they have built, supporting future generations and ensuring their wealth can be transferred according to their intentions.

Recognising this emerging need, Prudential Assurance Malaysia Bhd (PAMB) has launched PRUPrestige Legacy, a flagship wealth and legacy solution designed to help customers grow, protect and transfer wealth with confidence.

The plan combines protection, wealth preservation strategies and greater control over how their legacy is managed and distributed.

“High net worth customers today face a different set of challenges from previous generations,” said PAMB chief customer, marketing and product officer Chee Foong Wai.

“Wealth is often held across businesses, properties, investments, currencies and countries. As a result, preserving wealth, creating liquidity and maintaining control over how it is passed on have become just as important as growing it.”

Chee added: “PRUPrestige Legacy was designed to address these evolving priorities by bringing together wealth accumulation opportunities, protection and legacy planning all in one solution.

“It gives customers greater confidence that the wealth they have built can continue to support the people, aspirations and future generations that matter to them the most.”

The plan supports customers in maximising their wealth accumulation journey through 100% premium allocation from the outset, ensuring every premium paid is allocated from day one. It also offers attractive Loyalty Rewards, providing an additional boost to customers’ long-term wealth accumulation potential.

In an increasingly interconnected world, protecting wealth against uncertainty has become an important consideration for affluent families. One of the key features of PRUPrestige Legacy is its ability to link coverage to major global currencies.

The plan also offers customers the option to link their coverage to the value of gold, providing additional flexibility to preserve their purchasing power and protect the long-term value of their wealth.

As people live longer and enjoy more years in retirement, PRUPrestige Legacy includes a Legacy Enhancer benefit, which provides additional coverage at no extra cost from age 70, increasing progressively up to 50% by age 100 to support customers as they enjoy greater longevity.

Passing on wealth is only one aspect of legacy planning. Increasingly, HNW families are seeking ways to ensure that wealth is transferred responsibly according to their intentions. As such, PRUPrestige Legacy includes PAMB's signature Legacy Settlement Option, with built-in trust features that allow customers to tailor how wealth is distributed. Wealth can be transferred as a lump sum payment, structured payouts or distributions tied to key life milestones, allowing customers to tailor wealth distribution according to their family's evolving needs across generations.

“At Prudential, we believe true financial confidence comes from knowing that the people and aspirations that matter most will continue to be protected for generations to come.

“PRUPrestige Legacy reflects our continued commitment to meeting the evolving needs of HNW Malaysians, helping them preserve what they have built, shape how it is passed on and create lasting impact for future generations,” Chee added.
