MORE than 1,000 cycling enthusiasts took part in “Kayuhan MPAJ 2025”, marking the first event to be held along the newly built East Klang Valley Expressway (EKVE).

Organised by Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) in collaboration with the Ampang Community Cycling Club (MCC), the 50km ride aimed at encouraging residents to adopt a healthy lifestyle through sports, while enjoying the scenic views along the route.

MPAJ deputy president Hasrolnizam Shaari flagged off the participants at Laman Rekreasi Tasek Tambahan.

From there, participants passed along Jalan Taman Putra, Laman Niaga Ampang Waterfront, the EKVE and up to the Sungai Long Toll Plaza, before returning to the starting point.

Lembah Jaya assemblyman Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Alhadad also attended the event.

The event’s strategic partners included Penggerak Belia Selangor and Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital.

Students and community members also took part in the tree planting and Jalur Gemilang waving activities.

A total of 40 school representatives received certificates of participation and tree samplings to be planted in their respective schools.

In support of Selangor’s Green Campaign to plant 11 million trees by 2026, a total of 30 fruit and shade trees contributed by Sik Cheong Bhd were planted around the park on the day.
