Celebrate National Day with gold medallist swimmers Cindy Ong, Milorad Cavic

THIS National Day, the public can catch two swimming icons at Surf Beach at Sunway Lagoon during the "Swim. Slide. Surf. Splash. Merdeka Weekend of Legends and Gold" event.

Cindy Ong, who is Malaysia's multi-time World Aquatics Masters gold medalist, and Olympic silver medalist and World Champion gold medalist Milorad Cavic will make an appearance this Sunday from 10am to 12pm.

Guests can meet the athletes, take photos, get autographs and enjoy friendly slide races where guests of all ages have the chance to compete alongside Cavic and Ong -- turning Surf Beach into Malaysia’s ultimate Merdeka splash zone.

“As a Malaysian, celebrating Merdeka this way is special and I hope to inspire more young Malaysians to fall in love with the water and discover the power of swimming,” said Ong.

“I’m excited to come to Malaysia on a weekend of national pride, and share my passion for the sport,” said Cavic.

Admission to meet the swimmers is included with standard Sunway Lagoon park entry, and swimwear is required for slide races.

As part of the celebrations, Cavic will lead an exclusive technical swim clinic on Sept 1 from 8am to noon at Garden International School, focusing on elite technique, race strategy, and competitive mindset.

Cavic is known for his Olympic silver medal in the 100m Butterfly at the 2008 Beijing Games and his World Champion gold medal in the 50m Butterfly in 2009,

Separate purchase of a ticket is required for the swimming clinic.
