Johor International Book Bazaar set to shine in Visit Johor 2026 tourism calendar

JOHOR BARU: Johor International Book Bazaar should be included in the state’s tourism calendar in conjunction with Visit Johor 2026, says executive councillor Aznan Tamin.

The state education and information committee chairman said that the book fair’s organiser, the Johor Public Library Corporation (PPAJ), would collaborate with Tourism Johor to promote the event next year.

“This is the first time we added an international element to the annual event, where exhibitors from the likes of Singapore, Indonesia, China, Turkiye and Iran make up the 89 exhibitors across the five-day programme.

“Aside from this book event, we will look at promoting our public libraries as tourism attractions because we are actively conducting fun activities at the public facilities,” he said after launching the international book bazaar at a mall here on Saturday (Aug 2).

Aznan, who is also PPAJ board chairman, said PPAJ’s main library in Jalan Yahya Awal is also the first library to collaborate with Petrosains, where visitors can touch, feel and experience science through interactive exhibits.
