A HOMEGROWN brand has placed Malaysia on the world stage of premium spirits.

Since 2021, JF Dominic has secured multiple awards in several global competitions.

At last year’s New York World Spirits Competition (NYWSC), the brewer entered 11 products and secured 10 awards.

These included silver medals that recognised the refinement and complexity of the brand’s creations.

The company also garnered bronze medals for its spirits.

At the International Spirits Challenge (ISC), International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) and San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) that were held last year, JF Dominic also achieved big wins.

In the 29th London-based ISC, JF Dominic earned two gold medals for its Mizunara Oak Finish and Peated whiskies in the World Whiskey category.

Judges also awarded a silver medal to its Signature Release whiskey.

At the IWSC, the brewer earned a silver award for its JFD Vodka and JF Dominic Peated Whiskey.

The competition also saw the company’s rum, tequila, Signature Release, and Mizunara Oak Finish whiskies being accorded bronze medals.

At the SFWSC, JF Dominic secured seven silver awards.

These were for its Mizunara Oak Finish, Peated and Signature Release whiskies as well as its JFD Gin, Rum, Vodka and Bar 1933 Peated blended malt.

JF Dominic founder Ang Kim Sing shared that the company was borne out of a passion for crafting spirits that reflected Malaysia’s rich heritage.

“Using the pristine waters of Ipoh (in Perak), we have spent decades perfecting our blends to achieve the highest quality, and today, we see the world recognising our efforts.”

Building on its successes, the company plans to expand and launch new products.

It began sales in Taiwan last April and will start gradually building a presence in Indonesia in third quarter of this year.

In China, the brewer is growing its distribution network.

Whisky enthusiasts can purchase JF Dominic products at Deyine Shop which is the official JF Dominic concept store in Malaysia.

They are also available at selected supermarkets.
