Incentives for school leavers

FOLLOWING the release of the 2024 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) results, school-leavers residing in the Ayer Hitam constituency in Johor are eligible to apply for cash incentive.

Yong Peng assemblyman Ling Tian Soon announced the initiative, a joint effort between his office and the parliamentary office of Ayer Hitam MP Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

This programme, which has been running for several years, continues a tradition of rewarding local students for their academic achievements in the SPM examinations.

“This reward recognises the hard work of our students,” said Ling in a media statement.

“We encourage all eligible Ayer Hitam residents who have met the criteria, to apply for this incentive.”

To be eligible, students must have obtained at least one A and credits in all other subjects.

Last year, the programme benefitted 125 candidates of SPM 2023, with 95 recipients the year prior, highlighting the ongoing commitment to supporting academic excellence within the constituency.

Ling, who also serves as the Johor health and unity committee chairman, urged eligible candidates to seize this opportunity and to inform others.

Applications can be submitted by completing an online form with personal details, including email, home address and school name, as well as attaching a copy of their SPM result slip and MyKad for verification.

The deadline for applications is May 10.
